One of the things I liked when everyone forgot to buy an arsenal crate was that during wave break, a strike force of humans would dash out, search the map for a crate, and when someone finds it would all retreat back in… ideally before wave break. I found this a lot of fun, and very exciting. I’d suggest something that tries to capture this feel.
Anti-Zombie Virus: Halfway through Wave 4, there is a 10-20% chance that humans get a teamspeak-only message that an anti-virus has been randomly spawned on the map (they also get a general direction where it is). Their job is for someone to grab it before Wave 5 starts. Zombies on the other hand only get a warning a few seconds into the wave break that it exists (although they could always stumble across it accidently and know ahead of time anyway).
If a human captures the virus canister, waves 5 and 6 are 30-60 seconds shorter. On the other hand if they don’t, zombies get a X% damage reduction for waves 5+6.
Humans get a couple of minutes warning so it gives them time to strategise and decide whether they will risk the run. Zombies get a much shorter warning because if they were warned too far in advance, too many would wait in ambush and the human strike would be guaranteed suicidal. Ideally the % chance of this event happening is low so that zombies don’t automatically go to wait in ambush as well.
“unnail or i can get u muted” sounds to me like elitism/pretending to know an admin/acting like you’re part of an “in” crowd to me. There are definitely better ways to say this (“doing X is bannable” is a reasonable, general warning). So I’m fine with the ban being put on in the first place.
The main thing is whether the ban is too harsh - they guy has been permabanned before for hacking threats, so he’s lucky to be playing at all, honestly. So anything he does that’s against the rules does risk a re-permaban, and he probably wasn’t aware how much less tolerance his actions would get, as opposed to anyone else who has a clean record. I’m competely unimpressed with the “cut me some slack, it’s christmas, let me break rules with a lesser penalty” argument he put forth. That said, a permamute for ‘unnail or i can get u muted’ probably is a little harsh, even for a person on their last chance. I would think maybe a 2-3 month mute would be more reasonable.
That said, the final decision rests with NN Administration, and I won’t lose any sleep if they decide he keeps the permamute.
I don’t really think it’s worth the time to implement, sorry. While technically is better to have than not, I don’t think it gives enough of a benefit to implement - and I’m not sure what I think about having flashing indicators above nails. Would look a bit messy.
There isn’t really any compelling reasons to lift the ban here. It’s fairly common knowledge that acting elitist is going to get you into trouble with NN Administration eventually.
I’m not really convinced by “He hit my prop so I acted elitist towards other players on the server” as a justification. If you compare it to other bannable offenses like “He hit my prop so I griefed the cade” or “He hit my prop so I speedhacked”, it doesn’t quite wash. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Pomegranate hitting props is a separate issue to be assessed on its own, and shouldn’t have any impact on the ‘shotinface alienating new players by being zspro elitist’ issue.
-please god no. You can have a certain set-up for a barricade for 5 waves, but might need to switch around for chem zombies, so this would mean doom in those situations.
What situations are you talking about? Is this a hypothetical, or are there maps where we actually regularly change the cade on wave 6?
