RE: Publish 363 - RTP rebalancing + ZS stuff
So I can now spam zolt/starburst/anything at the enemy stack of props/spawn and there is nothing they can do about it.
he says before spending the next two weeks building manafarms and shitting all over opposing bases with nothing able to counter it.

If Atomic won’t undo your ban, feel free to beat Jetboom in any of the games listed here
RE: Why no one plays RTP anymore.
That’s the most retarded thing I’ve heard thus far. Even more so than atomic’s suggestions.
"Let’s add a grind on top of a skill curve!"
RTP had no problem being #1 back when it came out but all of those players have since left gmod. We are left with roleplayers. RTP isn’t role play.
if you think that then finish RP or lets move to another game engine
RE: Why no one plays RTP anymore.
There’s a lot reasons why RTP is empty most of the time but I’ll just mention the main ones in order with 1 being the biggest reason people don’t play.
1. The ability to Team Stack
This past month I’ve probably seen RTP have 12+ players maybe like once (and I check often because I always have steam running.) In the old days, 15+ was pretty common depending on the time of day. When the server has like around 6-10 players, most of the time there is like 3 or 4 really good players and more often then not they are on the same team. This leads into a complete rape fest for the other team and most of the time the other teams’ numbers drop because no one likes getting farmed. There needs to be a way to avoid good players from joining the same team purposely. A forced random team would be nice instead of people reading the console to see what player is on what team before picking. I think fixing team stacking would have the biggest impact on server population.
2. Lack of Updates
I honestly can’t remember the last update for RTP. Back when RTP was updated on a steady basis, I would see the number of players rise a lot, especially after significant updates. Sometimes I would randomly check steam and see like 20+ people in the server and would think “Oh, there must have been an update!” Most of the time, I was right. When the server numbers are that high, more interest in new players is generated (as they see the server name on the top of the search list.) In turn, this leads to even more players wanting to play and growth becomes exponential. Unfortunately, the same goes for the opposite. When there’s only like 5 players in the server, no new players are joining because it doesn’t seem popular enough.
I don’t know if the developers care for this gamemode anymore or if its not in there best interest to update it but all I know is the lack of new content is keeping the veteran players away which keeps server population low enough to where potential new players aren’t interested.
I think a steady flow of updates will help keep the population up, especially if the update has new classes and other major things like that. (Thanks for elementalist , now go make more!)
3. The player base playing different nox gamemodes
Let’s be honest, there isn’t enough players at a given time to populate all the different game modes (RTP, awesome strike, mario boxes, and so on.) This leads to a sort of popularity contest between the different game modes. Some weeks, RTP will do solid, other weeks Awesome Strike will get good numbers. (It seems Zombie is immune to this because it is always crowded during prime time.) I’m not sure there is really a solution to this but I guess this is what happens when there is different servers to play on for the same relatively small player base.
I loved Nox the most back in gmod9 when there was only 1 server and the players decided which gamemode to play (arena, tp, buggy, and so on.) But that’s just me, I’m sure a lot of other players enjoy the freedom to choose different servers with specific game modes.
4. That is all folks…
5. The skill ramp between just started/ bad and great is so laughably large as to make 100 to 2 kill/death ratio possible.
huuuuugggeee difference, makes people quit.
