Event ideas.



  • i have some event ideas, and also can make stuff for them =)

    Dog Fight:
                                                  1. Main things
    1.1) Parcipiants are using same planes (made of wood with some wire)
    1.2) Event can be FFA(free for all) or Team Battle(Destroy the opposite team main building.
    1.3) 10-15 mins for each battle
    1.4) Planes contain few props so it will not lag with 10+ planes
                                                2. Planes
    There’s will be different plane type’s ^^
    2.1) Light fighter - 1 or 2 weak machine guns but hight speed(60 mph) and steering, low defence.

    2.2) Medium interceptor - normal Defence,1 weak and 1 powerful machineguns, operated by two players(pilot and gunner), 45-50 mph average steering

    2.3) mid heavy Convoy Ship - 2 players,35-40 mph, 2 heavy machineguns/ 6 light bombs, hard to steer and heavy defence.

    2.4) heavy Gun Ship ^^ - 2 players, very heavy armored ,low speed (25mph),1 powerful machinegun and heavy bombs (8-12),very hard to steer.
                                                3. Teams
    Players will write their teams here - 5-10 ppl per team.

    Paintball deadmach =)

    holo Markers(paintball pistols) and huge arena

    2 hits to die, last alive person wins.

    Sky Ship Battle

    1 huge Sky ship per team.

    ships armed with destructable cannons and machineguns
    fully made of wood

    concept of the ships:

    have 4 engines and 1 generator room

    1 dead engine = ship unstable
    2 dead engines = 70% crash of the ship
    dead generator room=big kaboom
    teams - 3-5 players
    maximum 10 minutes per match )

    waiting for comments
    also write in comment what event you like more (i prefer 3 :3 )

    All stuff will contain phx+wire

  • Anything involving wire or phx won’t be in an event.

  • ok…i will continue with third idea (big airships battle) but only with vanilla props(hl2 props) and normal thrusters and stuff, will post here pics of ships when i will think its done

    i am agree about phx - some peoples dont have this
    but why wire ? it can be turned invisible = no errors and for buttons and other things i can use hl2 models so it will be okay for ppl without wire…why not ?
    wire is perfect for the movening part (stabilisation,guns and other thingss)

  • Imagine 2, 50 prop masses of props, hoverballs, and thrusters. The lag caused by the outdated source engine makes generic vehicle battles very annoying and not fun. Most events usually end up being npc survival.

  • he said something about that he will parent them so each ship would only lag like 6-8 props. and he would not make a ship that runs on hoverballs and thrusters.
    he uses far more stable and controlled tools



  • Thats right. Parenting is something like “super weld”. Parented props work like holograms - you see them, but they are nocollided, dont have weight and stuff. Also you can walk on parented props.
    I agree 50-150 unparented props will rise ping to 700, but 143 parented and 7 normal props will only cause lags of 7 props = nothing, also parented props can be breakend via bullets, assploded and stuff.Also my ships will be operated by 1-2 expressions =) Dont worry, i will post here a video\pics when i done.

    What don’t you understand? Also your definition of “parenting” is wrong.



  • what is parent in your eyes Zet ? anyways huge (150-300 props) thing will not lag if parented and will crash the server|make super lag if not.



  • Parenting means that a parented entity will always follow what the parent do and in that case of course it’s movement.



  • yep but this movement not calculated by havoc engine  :happy:
