Fixed Gear bike

  • I’m building a fixed gear bike. I have a black schwin prelude frame im going to repaint some solid color. Now for numerous part for the bike Im going to use 3 colors, what should I use?

Im leaning towards Green/Black/Yellow unless someone can make a better combination of colors.

So far im going to use a Brookes Leather seat and
an Green Origin 8 crank set.

So green is a definite color.

    The Parts
Seatpost - Sticks out of the frame, holds the saddle.

Seatpost Collar - Secures the seatpost to the frame.

Fork - Holds the front wheel.

Front Wheel - We ain’t building a unicycle.

Rear Wheel - Either the one that came with the bike or a new one, that’s for the next section.

Tires and Tubes - Keep the wheel rims from hitting the road.

Headset - Attaches the fork to the frame, lets you steer.

Stem - Attaches the handlebars to the fork.

Handlebars - Someplace to put your hands to help steer.

Front brake - Lets the novice fixer stop.

Pedals - Step on these to make it go.

Chain - The transmission. Don’t get too attached to it.

    Will post complete picture.

  • Baby blue and baby pink is a fantastic color scheme.

    Here’s mine.

I have brakes on mine because my local police love to fuck with hipsters.

  • looks sweet, i like the color fading,

yeah i was thinking about frabricating a small front break on mine once i aquire all my parts.

They say a rear break does only 25% of the stopping on a bike, go figure.

once i get my bike out of the shop i’ll post what i got so far, i acually found my frame in the trash, and thought, lets get it fixed (into a fixed gear)
