The Tower of Terror, Floor 1

  • it’s been 100% tested and exploit-proofed, so yeah, not sure how the part with the spinning wheels will work out in the server but other than that it should be fine

made by myself, a few things here or there were added by alize and it was exploit-tested by my sandbox server for an hour

replace it with this one, I had to change a few things since it was like impossible to win

  • apparently the win button disappeared or something

    hngg

otherwise the new map is perfect

  • Looks Pretty good and challenging.

  • It’s perfect in terms of difficulty, challenge and fun.

i did some other shit, upload this one please (this also fixes the winner button)

  • Did you get rid of that rocket?

  • I added a thruster on it with a button on the front

pretty sure the complaining stopped the very first time we played the new revision

  • The only thing I didn’t like about the map was the last part with the platform you can move left and right. If a person doesn’t want you to win, all they have to do when you’re on that platform is press the left or right button from the starting point. If you could, remove the buttons on the starting point, and make the platform naturally move back with a rope, hydraulic or whatever.

Its not too big of a deal, its just kind of dumb. Other than that, its a really great map.

  • Not a bad idea, but the fact is that hydraulics and related are really fucking buggy and I really don’t want to use any wire in any of my courses since there can be bugs that arise from it (see Avalanche).

I could replace it with a muscle-controlled platform (that goes in a straight line, knocking out some difficulty), but people from above can still jump onto the platform to cause it to spaz out.  Just about the ONLY way I can think of keeping the difficulty of rotating the platform without ejecting you is to put it on a slight slant so it rolls backwards towards the clock platform.  This would be the only true and tried way to remove griefing on the clock side.  However, this still would not fix the issues with the platform being able to be griefed via the buttons on it, or even body weight (can be moved just by pushing on it).  Frankly, I think it’s a small price to pay to keep a decently working platform system.

there was also a request to make it impossible for people who won to grief (ex: jumping down on platforms, etc), but that would mean I’d have to either re-locate to a winner button off the ground outside of the tower (and they could still get back up to the top and grief from there) or create some kind of teleporter using wire (again, not a big fan of it considering the bugs that can arise).

  • Don’t worry about it too much, you can grief in almost any map.
