    Super Mario Boxes

    • Added the tier 4 weapon: Mortar Gun. It fires a mortar that explodes on impact. The trick is that it must be alive for at least 1.75 seconds before it actually explodes. It has a larger radius but less damage than the Bazooka. The reload time is 5 seconds.

    Zombie Survival

    • Melee weapons now have a crosshair.

    • Added separate voice sets for the barney, alyx, and monk models. A few changes were made to the male and female voice sets.

    • Pain sounds can no longer play simultaneously.

    • Added new, animated death icons for each zombie class as well as icons for poison spit and poison flesh. Created by Eisiger.

    • Added a convar to determine if Crows can’t push or interact with physics objects. If a Crow gets in the way of a prop then the Crow will move inside of the prop if needed. This is OFF by default to make it so Crows can still do something.

    • Improved the look of poison spit and flesh from the Poison Headcrab and Poison Zombie.

    • The points for healing team members is now 1 per 5 health instead of 1 per 15 health.

    • Added Film Mode to the options menu. Enabling this will disable almost all of the HUD.

    • prop_nail can now be used in Source SDK.

    • prop_playergib can now be used in Source SDK.

    • Gibs are removed if they take 25 damage. This is to prevent things like the Aeolus train getting clogged and stuck on the gibs. It could also be a good idea to bash gibs near your barricade to prevent zombies from healing.

    • Gibs now heal zombies for a straight 10 damage instead of a percentage of their maximum health.

    • Added server convar: zs_medkitpointsperhealth. Default is 5 which means every 5 health you heal for team members is 1 point.

    • Added server convar: zs_giblifetime. Default is 25. Determines seconds that need to pass before the gib removes itself.

    • Using iron sights will no longer remove the middle part of the crosshair.

    • Replaced the middle red dot of crosshairs with a small cross. You can toggle this back to being a dot in the F4 menu.

    • Poison Headcrab spit distance reduced.

    • Poison Headcrab spit base damage reduced from 10 to 5 (you used to get damaged for 10 even if you were hit in the legs).

    • The Poison Zombie’s thrown flesh no longer collides with team members.

    • Fixed the Poison Zombie’s thrown flesh doing physics damage.

    • Fixed not being able to be poisoned by the same person at the same time; Poison Headcrab melee and spit damage-over-time by the same person now stacks.

    • Fixed speed boost powerups not registering until you switch a weapon or pickup an object.

    • Fixed a certain frying pan physics model not being converted to a weapon on map load.

    • Fixed the crossbow staying zoomed in if you tried to switch weapons while zoomed.

    • Fixed being able to chip health off team mates by hitting props.

    • Fixed Poison Zombie being able to launch itself in the air by throwing flesh in mid-air.

    • Fixed some gibs using the ‘metal’ physics material for some strange reason.

    I also blocked off the secret room in zs_tug_hut and removed all suitcases from zm_countrytrain.

  • Wouldn’t keeping poison flesh doing damage to objects a good thing? Stuff like barricades in the air such as that on subversive 4  can be made to block out any zombie, so only ranged attacks work which now leaves a 5 dmg poison crab,
    but I am liking all these fast and good updates, will come back after bored of borderlands…

    Well you kinda removed it, so no problem there.

    Otherwise I’m glad to see more benefits coming from team-healing.  And ooh, film mode.  If you can, lower the FOV while in film mode since HL2’s default is 90 degrees and film is 54 degrees.

  • Nope.  If the FOV hasn’t been adjusted before the demo was recorded, it won’t show up.  It’s an incomplete feature among MANY in the Demo Smoother.



  • Wraith icon looks really bad when it’s slowed down.
