[ZS] "Artemis" Dual Crossbows



  • A set of miniature crossbows akimbo designed to be the second weapon in ZS to utilize crossbow bolts. Unlike the Impaler’s single-round, flesh-penetrating bolts, the Artemis fires rapid successions of smaller explosive bolts that explode on contact with a zombie or the ground with the potential to moderately damage multiple enemies at once. You can also blast below yourself mid-air for a mild boost in jump height, although at the cost of personal health. One last note is that direct damage is constant regardless of where the bolts strike the body, so there’s no increased damage from headshots.

    Values for direct damage, zero distance explosion damage, and explosive radius are currently set at 95 hp, 22 hp, and 100 units respectively, although they can be modified in the projectile_arrow_mini init.lua file for purposes of balancing. Color trails are also set at yellow for the mini-bolts to contrast the red trail of the regular bolt for the Impaler. All associated lua files have been zipped and attached to this post.

  • I like it, the model could use a bit of work though. In thirdperson it doesn’t look very powerful (more like dual medic guns) but the viewmodel is fine.



  • I was imaging an actual reload animation would play on these. Seems bizarre they just reload like the annabelle does, not mention they have 4 shots of 2, also seems pretty strange. Another bolt ammo weapon would be nice, though.
