The developers have said that they have two goals with this game, to invoke the old “pick up and play” style arcade action of games from the nineties and to also be the antithesis of what modern games are at the moment with the whole politically correct and social malarkey going on over the last year.
I agree the trailer is kind of cringe inducing and sounds like the concentrated essence of the majority of Myspace journal entries back from when we we all in highschool and myspace was relevant, but I am going to be keeping track of this one, looks like it could be fun.

If they’re trying to make a statement about modern games that’s fine, but this probably isn’t the best way to do it. News companies will probably have a field day with this and a lot of people are stupid enough to believe anything they see on the news. They’ll see this game as supporting evidence that ‘games turn people into desensitized sociopaths’.
