Blacksmithing - weapons



  • ive been thinking about this idea for a bit, basically it is a room on the station with blacksmithing equipment that allows you to create weapons
    so here are a few rules about it
    better quality weapons require more time, two minutes is the minimum requirement for a horrible quality sword, which can kill a unarmored apponent in a crapton of hits
    four minutes in a under average sword, 100 hits on a unarmored opponent
    eight minutes will create a average weapon, 70 hits on a unarmored oppent, 100 armored
    10 for above quality 55 hits for unarmored, 70 for armored
    14 for good quality 48 hits unarmored 60 for armored
    18 awsome quality 30 hits unarmored 50 armored
    22 minutes is a master quality weapon, which can kill a unarmored opponent in twenty hits a armored one in fourty
    a full 45 minutes will make it a legendary weapon and can critical a unarmored opponent with a single hit, putting them into critical, five for armored

    weapon quality rules
    best good worst
    steel- slashing smashing piercing
    plasma- piercing smashing slashing
    plasteel- smashing slashing piercing
    diamond- piercing slashing smashing
    gold- smashing  slashing  piecreing
    silver-  smashing slashing piecerceing
    uranium- smashing - -

    plasma weapons will burn the target to ash, use only if you want to get rid of the bastard permently, cuases fire damage
    silver does extra damage to unnatural forces and can disable wizardly magic
    uranium causes rads poisoning on the target and mutates them horribly
    diamond can go through mutliple targets
    plasteel can stun people when electrical batteries attached
    gold can shove targets away from you
    steel ignores armor

    glass can be used but is instead used to create energy weapons which require a battery
    no hammers
    no crossbows

    weapon types
    sword- slashing piercing
    hammer- smashing
    gun- smashing
    bullets- piercing, ranged
    crossbow- smashing
    bolt- piercing, ranged
    spear- piercing
    axe- smashing slashing

    legendary rules
    legendary weapons are decorated randomly by random stuff
    legendary weapons have randomly generated names
    legendary weapons can be two materials 50%
    legendary weapons can use both materials 30%

    i will create a second thread about armor if this one pings the interest of you guys

    Too bad a fire extinguisher is better than all but the legendary weapon, and how often rounds last 45mins + the time spent mining the crap and getting access?
    Not to mention “magical” swords and crap would be a bit off in a 2d spess men game.

  • R&D is the spess blacksmith. Whether or not equipment gains the complexity of what you’re suggesting depends on whether or not drew wants it. i’d code it if everyone agrees on it. Even then, it won’t be anytime soon since i’m coding other things at the moment.

    I guess you are right, that is if only wizards and cultist can forge em.

    Actually, no!
    The game is about lazor pew pew, and maybe some other high tech, like toolbox to the head.
    At least make them lightsabers, and use fancy words like focusing crystal, beam emitter and automated comdom head toolboxer.

    It’s specially useful during rev. During normal rounds, it’s useful for correcting things that are missing. For example, there are no miners, so order a mineral crate. Some assistant stole all the weapons in the armory or armory is gone altogether, order a weapons crate.

    Cargo is only shit when everything else is good. Oh the ironing.
