Mapping for: Buggy Racer



  • Buggy Racer 2 uses different entitys and stuff than BR. To make these new entitys you can turn off smart edit mode and simply change around the class name and key values yourself.

    Crowd spawns are simply point entitys with the class name “info_player_crowd”.
    Cars will spawn at “info_player_racer” with the same angles as the entity.

    Now, here’s the new brush based entitys:
    “trigger_checkpoint” - The brush based entity you should use for checkpoints. They should have a key value of “point” set to a number. 0 is always the starting line. 1 is the first checkpoint, 2 is the second and so forth. You then space all these out throughout the level so that a player is forced to follow your track and can not go in reverse, skip loops or other tricks, ect.

    “trigger_pit” - ONLY MAKE ONE IF YOU WANT YOUR MAP TO USE BATTERYS AND PIT STOPS! When a car hits this trigger, their ‘gas’ tank is filled up. If you don’t have one in your map then the gamemode will just give everyone infinite ‘gas’. An example of a ‘gas’ map would be the old br_nascar map.

  • For the gas, does the trigger instantly fill up the tank, or do you have it set so it slowly fills up the tank?



  • Is it possible to create two trigger_checkpoints with the same number? Like say if you want to make a hard to enter shortcut, that bypasses one or more of them, we can just put a second trigger_checkpoint in there so it doesnt screw up the entire race for them.

  • :king: was a beta of br 2 for gmod 10 taken down while ago, replaced by nox rp, then by ssd, then the christmas event, then mario boxes.
