  • I’m gonna work on a karma system so that the station basically runs itself without the need of admins being there 24/7.

You get karma for running the station as you should, bonus for doing your job.
You lose karma for blowing shit up, killing people if you’re not a traitor etc

You do not lose karma if you’re doing traitor stuff, killing in self defense, killing traitors etc

Low karma makes you auto opt out of traitor positions.
Too low karma turns you into a corgi or something

  • Trouble in Space Station 13

  • Don’t allow people to play security unless there is a certain amount of people playing, because otherwise they get bored and start trying to find any reason at all to arrest someone.

Combine geneticist and chemist, so that medical is like science in that everyone can do their job without having to worry about being in the wrong area.

More traitor / changling objectives. Possible suggestions could be; Release a singularity (or create one inside the station), destroy the bridge (or any large area) with a bomb, and (if there is an AI) change the AI’s laws so that you are the only human.

  • As a botanist creating pod people should be an objective.

With the amount of variables to take in consideration, I think it would be better if more admins were made instead.

  • What about giving the AI a spilit-screen of 2 cameras? The second screen doesn’t have to be intractable with, just able to change it’s camera view via a list.
Maybe even four(once again the other 3 don’t need the ability to control electronics), I don’t know the extent to what can be coded, so it’s just an idea.
The AI usually has to be in several areas at once, like keeping an eye on a traitor and also having to open up a door for some fuck.
This would benefit everybody by drastically reducing the amount of griefers in the server, and help if no admins are on.

Theres only one variable that would have to be added to the human parent class… called karma…

  • I assume the variables are possible causes for gaining and losing karma, such as detection of actions through proxy (e.g. throwing an object at someone) or a self-defence detection system.

  • If objectives for classes are added in, here are some suggestions. Heads of staff have more difficult objectives because they have more powerful positions.  All numbers are just placeholders.

    • Assistant- Help 3 people complete an objective.

    • Captain- Have 4/5s of the original crew survive the round.

    • HoP- Have 3/4s of the original crew survive the round. Create five new ID cards.

    • Bartender- Make and serve 3 exotic drinks (such as the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster).

    • Chef- Make and serve 3 exotic foods (such as Braincake).

    • Botanist- Grow 3 exotic plants (such as a replicator pod or killer tomato) to adulthood.

    • Quartermaster- Order 3 shipments.

    • Shaft Miner- Mine 100 semi-rare ores. Rare ores count for 2. Bananium instantly completes.

    • Clown- Honk you’re horn.

    • Mime- ……

    • Janitor- Clean 100 tiles.

    • Chaplain- Heal 50% of the server with your book. Spacing dead bodies in coffins counts too.

    • Chief Engineer- Start the singularity, and keep it running for at least the first ten minutes. Have 3/4s of your command survive the round.

    • Station Engineer- Start the singularity, and keep it running for at least the first ten minutes.

    • Roboticist- Make one exosuit.

    • CMO- Have 3/4s of the original crew survive the round. Have all of your command survive the round.

    • Medical Doctor- Have 3/4s of the original crew survive the round.

    • Chemist- Create 7 different chemical solutions. Inject 3 people with beneficial solutions.

    • Geneticist- Clone 3 people. Inject yourself with one superpower.

    • Research Director- Do 3 scientific feats (such as creating a bomb, disabling a rogue AI, or creating a new AI). Half 3/4s of your command survive the round.

    • Scientist- Do 3 scientific feats.

    • HoS- Have all non-traitor security survive the round. 4/5s of the original crew must escape on the shuttle alive (to discourage leaving people to rot in the brig).

    • Detective- Kill one traitor, or assist in his death.

    • Security Officer- 4/5s of the original crew must escape on the shuttle alive.

    • AI- Never severely hurt any human. Have 4/5s of the station survive the round. If someone who isn’t the captain changes your laws, you will have no objectives and will be awarded as though you only completed one objective. If it is the captain you will be awarded as though you completed all of your objectives.

    • Cyborg- Whatever the objectives of your living counterpart job would be, and to never severely hurt any human.

Antagonists are not considered part of the original crew. “Survive the round” is always an objective.

  • Objectives shouldn’t rely too much on other players (for example, you can’t make ID cards for people if nobody wants/needs new ID cards) and should be easy to detect. SS13 is extremely complex so it’s impossible for a coder to reliably know things like who killed who (you usually die over time and the last damaging entity, like plasma or lack of oxygen, isn’t necessarily linked to the killer).

  • Oh yeah, should have put it in that thread. Oh well.

  • @Rover:

    Oh you.

    @Pseudohorse:

    Quartermaster- Order 3 shipments.

That would be completed in under 30 seconds. It should be linked to successfully ordering requests made from other players/departments rather than any 3 shipments.

  • Why was dead voting changed again? Same group of people have been griffin for hours because nobody is able to vote a restart.

  • Make it so that when admins pm you and they are hidden that a (hidden) appears after their name, or just mix up their name so that you couldn’t recognize them (i.e. hidden admins would show up as Smith or something).

  • It should have said “administrator” instead of my key. At least it did for the other people I pmed that round. It’s ok though because a couple people who keep doing things without admins being on have been banned now.

  • Restrict ability to play heads to NN members, if possible. There are groups of idiots who like to use the heads’ IDs that come with vast access powers to go anywhere in the ship and kill everyone.

Old player/regular player does not equal good player.
