I know that there are plenty of other things that would probably come first but in the future when new enemies are getting added you should try using enemies from the first half life game since a lot of those would be extremely good for a server like this and you could even make some of the bosses using models like the tentacle thing enemy or the nihilanth could even be like an event boss or something. Also i remember hearing something about there being a “half life renaissance” mod or something that might help with adding these.
At this moment this idea of instancing/splitting/etc. is worthless.
I agree. But it’s already alot of time spent on making this gamemode… I don’t think that putting a few things will make it “finished”(I mean alot of things are planned to be added, right?).
So when there will be ALOT of stuff… TOO Much for one server/instance… It can be splitted between different servers, right?
Like the TacoNBanana’s system of map. . .(Right now u can’t see it… they downed all the HL2 servers and launched STALKER server) where you have to get to specific part of a map and you can join other server with other map that has all your character’s stats/items/etc. so 100 people were split between 4 servers and thus caused much less lags for people.
I’m in the progress of redoing the entire item and container system. Currently it’s a mish-mash of the old noxrp, rpg, and nightmare’s own stuff. The RPG item system was pretty much flawless, so I’m bringing that over, including the drag+drop items / bags. This should fix all the current bugs with it in the mean time. There will be a required wipe when it’s done.
Progress is maybe half done. I wouldn’t expect any live updates for a bit.
Crafting multiple of one item should increase the difficulty - not double, but maybe by times 1.X, where X is the number of extra items you’re making.
This would provide two advantages:
1. You can’t craft indefinite amounts of a single item instantly, so people with high crafting skills can get things done faster, as is appropriate
2. You can train your skills at an appropriate rate if there’s a gap in the difficulty of your crafting recipes
Semi-related, it would be nice to have a ‘craft x amount’ option as well as a + and - on the crafting menu.
Remove /police and make it automatic. Police automatically go after people they notice are criminal.
Although I agree with this, I think a ‘call police’ command could still be useful. A nearby idle cop heads in this direction, so do-gooders can call cops if it looks like a fight is going to start somewhere in town. It could also be used to lure cops away from crimes, which I think would be an interesting mechanic. But of course you can just make it so you need a high karma for them to care.
